azrael201 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Sooo i was wondering why this was so cheap? Patrio PC4000 DDR i want ram but is G.Skill HBZ the only one people can recommend? I can't seem to find the Redline PC4000 anywhere. My budget is around 200.
SeanDude05 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I've had good results with Patriot PC3200 and I imagine their PC4000 would be just as good. The G.Skill HZ is the same price.

Actually i dunno if you checked but the Patriot RAM in my link is 165 while the HZ is 202. There's a big manufacturer rebate on Patriot. I'm just wondering is it because they use cheap modules? Also if the G.Skill HZ uses UCCC modules how come mushkin redline (also UCCC i think) is always more expensive i think i saw it for 80bux more. red930 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I just bought the 2x1gb pc4000 ELK patriot kit,the 40.00 rebate was too tempting.(NewEgg) I had also read a review at XS on these, http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...ghlight=patriot Just running stock right now,ran memtest overnight and then 30 passes #5,10 passes #8. Played BF2 a couple hrs and primed for 8hrs,everything seems good so far,had to bump the vdimm to 2.7 to get stable Tests run on NF4 Ultra D/Opty
red930 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I've had 2 of the DDR 400 Patriot 2GB kits. I haven't had any problems, other than a bad module (which was straightened out quite quickly by newegg and patriot tech support). Both run fine
