old_geekster Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 RyderOCZ tells me that the date in the title is not a legitimate BIOS for the Ultra-D. Is this correct? I can't boot my rig to check. I believe that I have seen this BIOS date in other sigs. I would appreciate your input.
Angry_Games Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 that bios is for OCZ Tony's NF4 Expert 7.04-2BTA bios if I recall you can remove the part about "phoenix 6.00 PG" from your sig as all Phoenix bios versions on our boards are 6.00...the real number is the date code you should check the downloads page at www.dfi.com.tw for your board and see if there is a bios for that date, but I doubt it....like i said, it looks to be the NF4 Expert's 7.04-2BTA actual date. for your Ultra-D, I highly suggest the OCZ Tony (BigToe) 7/04-2BTA bios. That is STILL the most popular bios for the original NF4 series (-D, Ultra-D, SLI-D, SLI-DR)
RubberDuck Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 OCZ Tonys 704-2bta is 7/6/2005 is I believe.
old_geekster Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I forgot to come back to divulge what I found on the DFI website about my BIOS; 11/14/05. It is an official BIOS, the description says that the "Major change/s: Added support for AMD FX-60." This answers my question. Thanks for the link H_G! soundx98 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 The last three Ultra-D's from Newegg (last 3-4 weeks) that i built for friends had that Bios. And yes FX-60 recognition is the dif. I flashed em to Tony's 704-2bta (nobody had FX-60s)
iLLestOne Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 My board (from newegg) has that bios.... The only thing I wasn't sure about is it a -1, -2, or -3? Or none!? I have TCCD and was told to run a -3 version bios b/c of the RAM table or something, but only see a 6/23-3 bios on dfi's site. Am I missing something? What bios should I be running? I've got up to 290 2.5-3-3-8 memest stable, but haven't done a lot of prime yet (still working on oc'in the cpu).
ollietwinam Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I got that BIOS if it helps
old_geekster Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Thanks to all of you for your posts. Once I checked the DFI site, I knew that I wasn't crazy. As stated by all of you, it is an official BIOS version. It won't matter for long, because I am going to buy a couple of BIOS chips from Tmod. Then, I am going to flash my BIOS to Tony's 704-2bta. Guest Tmod Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I am going to flash my BIOS to Tony's 704-2bta. I can just program the chip for you with the 704-2BTA on it. Tmod
