Thus, I ordered 3 chips from biosflash.com with 704-2BTA 623-2 406 I bought another 1GB OCZ Titanium RAM. I finally got my second RAM module yesterady and today I got the three chips bought from biosflash.com. Very good site, fast delivery, reasonable prices and a battery for free! Removed the old BIOS chip easily with my PLCC-Tong. Plugged in the new one with the flashed 704-2BTA. OK. One single RAM module in DIMM2, Short CMOS Flash, Start..... AND? Nothing! But now 4 LED's in red! All is like before, but one LED more! Wow. I removed the HDD and was trying to start the system with CD drive only. Nothing. What the hell happens with my system? wevsspot Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 a.) no disrespect intended but I dont trust anything from DFI's official website. I always use a modded BIOS, if it voids my warranty, so be it. The only official BIOS (at least I think it was official) was the 623-1 through 623-3. b.) IMHO the absolute best BIOS for the NF4 Ultra-D board is the 0704-2bta, so I'd swap to that chip if I were you c.) Immediately after swapping bios chips do a full and proper CMOS clear as explained in ExRoadies guide. d.) Make sure to do a minimal build outside of the case as explained in the NF4 build guide. All of the details are covered there. Luck to you. I'm really sorry about your problems. p.s. if all of the above fails, arrange an RMA on your board if possible.
