I Voyager Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Well, first heres the build: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo CORSAIR XMS Twinx2048-3200c2pt 2GB (2x1GB) XFX PV-T71G-UDE7 GeForce 7900 GT Extreme 256MB PCI-E x16 SG Barracuda 7200 ST3300622AS 300GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE/ATAPI Model ND-3550A Antec NeoHE 500 ATX12V 500W I've heard that motherboard is "Picky". Will my RAM work with it? I read on a post that my PSU will, and is recommended. But I couldn't find anything about my RAM. What about the rest of the PC, will it work with it? Any help / suggestions / tips for when I put it together would be super. Thanks.

I Voyager Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 READ and comply. Now what? Can you give suggestions now, or..?
UncleDavid218 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 The RAM should work, though most users prefer OCZ, Mushkin, G.Skill, etc. If it doesn't work return it... it's pretty easy. Make sure to use the orange slots for dual-channel.
THunDA Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 You should be fine with that setup.. Im pretty sure that I've seen a few using that ram too.. it probably wont overclock much but it will work..
Guest caffeinejunkie Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 The ultra-d isnt that picky and really the only problem w/ corsair comes form their value-select line. Your psu should be okay just make sure you balance those rails because that 7900 is a power hungry beast that can take like 14a on load. As for putting it together aslong as you follow the Build Guide all should be good. good luck w/ your new rig

Eh, I'll be fine without overclocking it, I think. If I wanted to overclock, should I rma it for OCZ? (Can I find good OCZ RAM from NewEgg for 200-250 dollars?) (Can I find good OCZ RAM from NewEgg for 200-250 dollars?) Well if you already have it coming to you then you might as well try it out.. I would have went with pc4000 just because even if its doesnt overclock well at least your at 250mhz stock.. There are plently of good OCZ kits in that price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....anufactory=1550

tasr Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I, Voyager To DFI-Street. You will get a lot of good opinions on your build. Better to do it before you purchase something than to fine out later you got something not recommended. Be patient here you don’t want to rush a purchase. Here is good link to read on memory; Recommended - RAM Guide for DFI nF4's. Look under (A list of good memory modules). º¿º
