OCZ RAM 2Gb Kit which one it better for OC

OCZ EL Platinum PC3200 2GB 2X1GB DDR400 CL2-3-2-5 184PIN Pin Dual Channel Memory Kit /W Ramsink -- 199CAD after rebate

 

OCZ EL Gold GX XTC PC4000 2GB 2X1GB DDR500 CL3-4-3-8 184PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit -- 209CAD after rebate

 

Both are mother's day on sale in ncix.com until May 14th. I want to have one 2Gb kit to replace my 1Gb kit which showing in my sig. So which would be the better choice for ocing? Thanks in advance.

any other 4000 would come before the 3200, but yea, the plats are better than the gold..

 

My XTC does about 261 or so before it gets sketchy with spd timings and low volts.

Hi all

 

Pretty sure this is my first post. I think.. Its good to see dfi street back. It is probably the best forum sight I have seen.

 

Just some info for vitamincat, I just did a heap of research on these two kits and I would definitely reccommend the PC4000 kit if you are overclocking. I ended up going with the XTC 3200 2gb kit as I got it really cheap off some lad on ebay. The kit I have is great but it does not oc that much. I can get about 235Mhz @ 3,4,4,8 stable. I believe the PC4000 will oc to around 265MHZ stable @ 3,4,4,8. So either way, oc'in or not I would definitely grab the PC4000. You might even be able to get them down to 2,2,25 @ 200Mhz.
