wakerider017 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Not sure if this in the correct spot. Sorry if it isnt... Any way I am trying to over-clock the system in my sig.... I would like to achieve at least 2.8GHZ on air and want to run my memory at 500MHZ. How do I set the memory to run at DDR500 and then have HyperTransport running at the stock 200MHz?
noahsark1126 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Why do that? imo your best option is to run 250x11 (which is 2750, close enough) 1:1 with the memory and an LDT multi of 4x. If you really want the 2800mhz and the 250 mem your gonna have to run it on a divider.

Burky Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Those temps are kind of high. What do you reach load?
wakerider017 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Those temps are kind of high. What do you reach load? are you being serious? 35C is low as hell! Esp for an air cooled fx-55 at 3.0GHZ! I used to run 32-31 C at 2.6GHZ.... At full load the CPU heats up to 42 C

sleepingAwake Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 By offset I believe he means the difference between the 2 programs temp readings. Software temp monitors are mediocre at best.
WakeUpDead Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Is that 3GHZ running stable? I cant get my 55 past 2946 without lots of troubles. I would really like to know how long Prime ran for on that setting. Thanks!
wakerider017 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Is that 3GHZ running stable? I cant get my 55 past 2946 without lots of troubles. I would really like to know how long Prime ran for on that setting. Thanks! I turned out it was not rock solid at 3.0.... I had in p95... It was probably running a tad hot.... I figure if i had water cooling I would be fine! I figured that I really dont need that extreme of an OC... so I did an 11X multiplier and 260 fsb... That yeilds an extremely stable PC at 2.86GHZ and ddr520! I could go into the 2.9's and be rock solid but i figured why bother? 2.86ghz is fast enough! r1derbike Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Could never get my FX-55 past 2.8 Ghz stable on air. Not going to spend the money on exotic cooling to do so. Not worth it. Plenty of processors out there that will OC past the FX-55 (stock) with little effort, for a lot less money. Charles
