Marvell LAN Dying?

Recommended Posts

...We trouble shoot for a bit, then on a whim, he told me to change Speed & Duplex setting to 100MB Full Duplex, from Auto-sense.

BINGO!

It said cable connected, and I could again connect to the net.

...

Where did you find this setting? Within windows or in the BIOS?

Also, when you guys are talking about Nvidia LAN or Marvell LAN, how do you distinguish between the two?

In device manager, properties, then advanced.

Then select 'speed & duplex' and change it there.

The Marvell NIC is the lower port, and the upper one is the Nvidia one.

Oh, and in BIOS, make sure you have the Marvell NIC enabled.

My Marvell Yukon seems to be fried after trying LiveCD linux. It worked fine in windows, booted up Knoppix LiveDVD linux for the first time, seemed to recognise the cards but then wouldn't connect to the net. I shutdown then rebooted into windows.....still no connection. Works fine with with the Nvidea (computer acted weird at first but now Nvidea seems faster than Marvell), the BIOS says the Marvell is there, windows sees it but no flashing lights :-(

Would disabling it/re-enabling it in the BIOS kick it into life?

Do what I said in the post above yours, and see if that helps.
