JayR Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 hi, today i got my board... now the first problems.. the ps just got 20 contact ATX conector not that 24 contact.. also just a 4 contact p4 connector not that 8 contact... i do not have pciX gfx just an old pci one atm... the hdd is in the system im writing from... is it posible to boot up the system? i read that it is possible to use only tha 20contact connector.. is that true for the expert?! JayR Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 i had a try now, but the monitor does not startup... also the diagnostic leds are all red... do i nedd to have an pciX card or hdd installed... or does the board need another bios for an opteron?! can someone tell my the minimal hardware requirements to see everything is working?! Reinvented Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Get a better PSU. This shouldn't even be discussed. It's best if you get a PCI-e card. So at least you can boot and install windows.
