Power on by Keyboard/Hotkey

Recommended Posts

Oh

well if i use windows hybernate i can wake from kyboard/mouse

But if i do shutdown it doesnt work

The mouse blinks on and then goes off, and the keyboard does nothing

i have a usb hub in and that lights up so its still getting power

For some reason i just cant turn it on

Its a IntelleMouse explorer 4 (USB, PS2 doesnt work either)

And a Microsoft Office Keyboard (USB, PS2 also doesnt work)

I have the jumpers set to 5vsb and that enermax unit has a fairly large 5vsb

Sorry I didn't mean any offence, I just like to be satirical some times. I wasn't being serious at all of course its got nothing to do with PSU. anyways problem solved, i'll eat humble pie to for not reading manually carefully enough.

Power on by keyboard works ok for my PS/2 keyboard most of the time.

If I shut down my pc normaly it works ok.

If I unplug the pc or turn it off and on with the switch on the PSU it won't power on with keyboard. Since I don't unplug my PC often it isn't such a big deal.

I don't use standby (the fact that it messes up all of your temperatures is annoying), but I have tried the power on by keyboard a few times with it and all worked ok.

It is a feature that is perfect for all those that have cases with doors ;)

Hi yahooad There is a seperate jumper to wake on USB here uis the settings

JP5 and JP6 are used to select the power of the USB ports.

Selecting 5VSB will allow you to use the USB keyboard or USB

mouse to wake up the system..

Important:

• If you are using the Wake-On-USB Keyboard/Mouse

function for 2 USB ports, the 5VSB power source of your

power supply must support.

• If you are using the Wake-On-USB Keyboard/Mouse

function for 3 or more USB ports, the 5VSB power source

of your power supply must support

have you tried plugging in the keyboard directly in to the usb port. Even through the USB hub has power it might be the problem.

no its direct into the computer, the hub just has a A2 printer connected, but it wouldnt work without the hub ....

Then I out of Idea's the only other thing you can try is using a usb to ps2 adapter see if it works.
Its a IntelleMouse explorer 4 (USB, PS2 doesnt work either)

And a Microsoft Office Keyboard (USB, PS2 also doesnt work)

but i will double check :)

i know the mouse doesnt work, ill look for a adaptor for the keyboard ;)
