The Crucial BallistiX Tracer would be the top on my list, the working ones are the best 2x1GB kits in terms of overclocking ability.

1st = The PC4000 2x1GB kits with Infineon CE-6 chips.

2nd = OCZ Gold GX 2GB or other UCCC 3-4-3-8 kits

3rd = F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ or other UCCC 3-4-4-8 kits.

But you should take price into consideration.

Looking at Crucial's website, it looks like they are no longer offering any (1GB) or (2 X 1GB) modules of PC4000.

I followed the link Caebron cited and it was definately Crucial heavy. Unfortunately, consensus on their forum http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=86788 seems to be that Crucial is focusing on DDR2 to the exclusion of PC4000 DDR.

That's a interesting read. Looks like it's a matter of luck getting a kit that actually works, but when you do get one, they pretty much rock. Unless of course, they crap out after 2 months :D which seems to be a common issue.

Looks like I will pick up a set of OCZ Gold GX, sice I can actually find it in stock.

Here is an interesting kit I found in my obsessive wandering of the net looking for the best deal.

It is a Micron 5B set of PC4000 (1GB X 2). I am way to new to be buying something off of the not recommended list, but I think I will keep my eye on it. I can't even see that it is available in the US yet.

Here is a link to the product and another to the only review I have seen yet.

Does anyone know anything more about these? It looks like it might be promising.

Thank You,

The Gold kit was highly recommend in more than one thread on www.nForcersHQ.com/forum - I couldn't find the exact thread, but I know that Scotty, one of the mods there uses the Gold kit and recommends it even over the Platinum. It's somewhere in the hardware section of the thread...
