Windows/ Start toolbar disappeared!

My computer boots up to display the desktop, but the start button and the whole lower tool bar is gone. Clicking on icons still works, but I can't get to most of my programs... Any ideas?

it may be on "auto-hide", and moved to the top or sides?

open task manager (ctrl-alt-del)

 

go in application

 

new task

 

type: Explorer.exe

 

if explorer dosn't start,then most likely a windows problem,so you will have to do a repair,or reinstall

dirk, please get highjackthis and post up a log here. ill help you as much as i can.

 

if any of the other suggestions dont work, ill help ya. most likely is spyware related, or a repair is needed if something was corrupted

You need to be a little more specific when posting, too. Things like, "I'm running windows 95" would help. Also, have you tried running SpyBot S&D, anti-virus checks, etc? Are you using TweakUI?

Thanks for the help guys! I ended up re-installing windows and all is fine now.
