Xp2500.vs.xp1700+

Recommended Posts

Which overclocks higher? i have seen wcpuid of 1700+ at 2.6 on a swiftech mx462+ running low temps. but what can the 2500 do? im wondering cause im gonna be doing one of them soon in my next project computer. (Mordor Magic) :) had to come up with something original and its a small light case and its gonna be red so it sounds koo to me.

Plus other than the 2500. where would i get the 1700+ svc.com , xoxide.com sold out where else??

ive seen xp1700+ at like 2.6 from this jap site and i have seen others with tha same but im just wondering wich one i should get if i wanna get if i wanna fold. (cause this one is pretty much for you guys and the folding team).

I wanna get up to about 2.4 on one of them and use w/e cooling u guys suggest. Most likely im gonna go with the V7+ with ducting :) (seen NICE temps).

im suprised this is a question... its not all about MHZs.

http://www.furioustech.com/xp3000/Index.php

look at the comparisons

that 1700+ will have to be overclocked to 2250mhz to beat a barton core at 2171mhz. or a 2700+ would have to run at 2346 Mhz as in said at that link..

2.4mhz with a 2500+ is a nice goal with w/e cooling ... not 100% though. my 2500+ can run at 2369mhz on air and i consider that very good. but a barton vs 1700+ at same mhz will be left in the dust.. expecially when you are at 2.2mhz and up..

hope that aids in your decision..

FYI - picked up an Asus A78NX-Deluxe ($50 e-bay), and XP1700 JIUHB ($30) and have this running 2112Mhz 192Mhz x11, 1.7v 40C idle 48-50C under load. For the money you cant beat this setup.
