    You guys are idiots. You obviously don't understand a thing about how women work if you think getting into their pants requires you to throw money in their direction (well ok, in certain cases this works, but is also illegal :P).

     

    Stop telling him to spend his BIRTHDAY money on his girlfriend. That's HIS money, he should spend it on HIMSELF (this includes saving as he'll use the earned money for himself as well).

    Plasma vs LCD - Need help A.S.A.P.

    I am also looking to invest in an hdtv some time in the next 6 or so months.

     

    From what ive gathered in my small amount of research, plasma has a short life span, and im looking for something to last like, up to 10 years maybe, so thats out of the question i guess.

     

    Rear projection looks alright. My dad has got one, and it seems good.

     

    Not sure. ive got a 360, which goes right up to 1080p from what ive heard. Not that i need that. I'll be getting an HD pvr, not sure the resolution that has.....

     

    Anyway, so theres my setup. Watching movies, tv, and playing my 360 and wii. What do i need. lol.

    Oh by the way. Im looking at around 37", willing to go down to 32" and im on a budget of around 1000 bucks, but i could probably bump that up to around 1100-1200.

    well i can only hope. lol..

     

    When i go to buy a new one, what exactly do i have to look for. Im going to need at least 400w, but is there any other details i need to look for to make sure it works with my computer? Its been a while since i built it, hah..

     

    Good to have some reassurance that all of my ayumi hamasaki music isnt gone ^_^

     

    edit for verran: hah, well maybe i exagerated the "Billowing" part.. maybe more of a flowing, although it wasnt that thick, it was rather thin smoke, know what i mean?

    Okie dokie...

     

    Just 10 minutes ago, i was sitting at my computer and i smelled this really strange smell. I figured my mom was burning inscence or something so i just ignored it.

     

    2 minutes later, boom. computer turns off. I didnt try to turn it back on, there was no use. Why not? you might ask.. well, i looked up at my computer (i always have the side off) and i saw that there was smoke billowing from my power supply. Yipee, another problem to deal with.

     

    So, power supply is blown, ive gotten past that.. But is the rest of the computer?

     

    specs:

     

    400w power supply that came with my case (yeah i know, thats a no no..)

    xfx motherboard that is no longer supported by xfx

    athlon xp 3000+ cpu (i kick it old school)

    agp 5500 video card

    2 120gb hdds.

    etc.

     

    I havent got an opportunity to test another psu in there yet, because, well, i dont have one just laying around.

     

    I will go and buy one later today, probably, but is it worth it? like, is my entire system screwed or what?

    If it is, what can be salvaged? ram? video card? hard drives? anything?

    Ok, im 16 first off, so this isnt a rant about "those dang kids"...well it is.. But its my generation.

     

    For some really strange reason, i just got finished watching 2 episodes of "Sweet 16", where these bratty little rich girls beg their "daddys" for the most expensive, ridiculous birthday parties for their "sweet 16s". These little brats buy all this expensive crap and plan these huge parties, and beg for cars, and all that crap.

     

    They then have the nerve to ###### and moan when they don't get exactly what they want, using the excise that "they only have one 16th birthday party. Somebody ought to smack these chicks in the head, You only have one of EVERY birthday party, so shut the HELL UP and go back to cutting yourselves and throwing up after every meal.
