romeo55 Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Toms Hardware guide predicts the end of the P4s but theres more, the article says that a P-M OCed bit and with a skt 478 adaptor could over power both the AMD FX-55 and the Intel 3.73 EE while running cooler and using less power. bigred Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 in a select few apps. but over all it gets it's butt handed to it in the vast majority of stuff.
neddamttocs Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 yeah, IMO it would be worth if youre a gamer becasue it beat the other procs in games, but for anything else go with a P4 or AMD64 EDIT: i frogot that you need a specific mobo and the skt adaptor making almost not worth it ... Guest Flashstar Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 One of the reasons why the pentium 4s are pretty much dead is that they require the replay function to work properly. It only makes them less efficient.
