scr4wl Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 It appears as though Microsoft's Edge browser is struggling to acquire more users, while Chrome is used by a majority of them. According to, Stat Counter Google's Chrome browser is used by over 60% of all computer users. Microsoft's Edge browser, on the other hand, is only used by 3.89% of users. The market shares of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Opera are also astonishingly low when compared to Chrome. Safari is the clear runner up with only 14% of the market share, and has seen only a .5% increase in users. Other popular browsers, like Firefox, actually appear to be losing their market share. Guest Guest Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Edge is extremely insecure. It was basically hacked at will at Pawned this year. Penetrated over and over and over again. Tried Chrome but did not like it - not enough features Still using Firefox - always works. And, with the latest upgrades, much faster. road-runner Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) I have always used firefox, as of late its been slowing down with my faster connection. I been trying crome last couple weeks seems to be faster and doesnt bog down like fire fox been doing. wevsspot Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Microsoft had one chance to get Edge right when they released Windows 10. Instead Edge was quirky, unreliable, wouldn't play some streaming online video sources correctly and the list went on and on. Then there were the security and privacy issues that compounded the conspiracy theorists (imagined, real or otherwise) about how much information MS was collecting about you while you were using the OS, much less the browser. Some folks (like me for example) even gave Edge the benefit of the doubt and came back literally months later only to find that nothing had really changed or improved in the meantime. It's awfully hard to improve market share or market penetration when your product is so much worse than what is already available from your competition.
