sword_fish Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Fair enough one other thing you can consider is using a 3M carbon fiber viynl wrap like swordfish has on his desk. Which also means you can use other bits of left over wrap to wrap components inside the PC to really tie in the PC with the desk. i've gone nuts with vinyls once again, did something here with my desk just recently (my permission to Muchoman for a hitch ) that platform where my rig sits used to be painted in matte black; got bored with it and thought for a change. how about with red this time ; what do you think? and btw Stoner, i just cant stand the itch modding those stock shields with the SATA ; how i really want my plastic looms back, got yah! ;
Prunes Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 i said im not removing the AG, only the outer plastic bezels. I know I'm just wondering why anyone would want that. According to me, the only reason companies make glossy screens is because it's more eye catching in the store.

Muchoman1 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Ok, so here is where i am at now, Parts i have: 3930k RIVE 32GB Dominator 1500W modular PSU HDDs SSDs Screens Things on their way Liquid cooling GPUs Now, i am trying to work out what will be the best setup for my rads. I have dual 480mm black ice GTX rads, and they are going to be stacked I have 3 choices for the fans however. Due to the magic of MS paint i have a diagram for you Option one is two rads with two 38mm fans on the outsides. Option two is two rads with two 38mm fans inbetween them. Option three is two rads and 3 25mm fans, two on the outside and one in the middle All 3 options cost the same, but which one will cool best? Stonerboy779 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 option 3 unless the 38mm fans have some drastically better pressure and airflow
Muchoman1 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 well these are the thin fans http://www.thekoolroom.com/product/d12sl-12/ and these are the 38mm http://www.thekoolroom.com/product/d12sl-12d/
vandreadstriker Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Not much different between the 38 and 25 in my eyes.. If you can stand the noise, I vote option

vandreadstriker Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Noise? these are all pretty quiet fans I was concerned that fitting them in that manner would make them echo around your desk.. 12 sources of noise echoing isn't exactly 'whisper quite' IMO. makarov Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Are the rads at the front or back of the desk...either way with a half decent pair of headphones you shouldn't even here the fans Edit: spelling Edited July 12, 2012 by makarov
