Yeah it's pretty obvious this review was written before the price hike. Review lists 179$ but on newegg it's almost 300$ for the 2TB...

I was wishing I would have waited to buy storage drives for my server, as this Seagate drive is impressive. But, these hdd prices are unreal

Market place price gouging is what it is. A way to make a buck. They all do it. You have to think all that was in the channels already have not been exhausted. Its just like oil pricing. Cost per barrel goes up, cost of gas made with the much cheaper barrel goes up the same day to compensate. Can anyone say artificially restricted supply on HD 5870's when they were the top dog?

Its despicable what merchants do these days but thats our world of capitalism....

THe review was written before the flooding reared its ugly head. Glad my storage needs are covered for the foreseeable future

Great review and great drive!! I too have noticed the insane price hiking of HDDs, atleast SSDs haven't gone off the deep end either and still seem to be creeping down more and more
