Pteroduck Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 My WiFi on my laptop keeps turning on and off. I went into bios and even reformatted the drive to make sure it wasn't a driver issue, but no buenoThe Wifi stays on for 5 minutes then turns off randomly, making me have to manually press the button to turn it back onAny ideas? IVIYTH0S Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Can you get to the wifi adapter easy?? If so, can you snap a picture of it?? I may be able to send you an extra one I pulled from one of my old laptops but I have two wifi cards that vary in size (the larger one's from a Core 2 Duo machine and the other smaller one is from a SandyBridge laptop)

wevsspot Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Could be the card fixing to take a dump, or could be over heating. Is this a recent problem that just cropped up or has it always behaved this way? Did you make any changes to your Windows Power Plan settings or change any of the power management options in the device driver properties? IVIYTH0S Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Where do you live, it might be worth a try anyway...
Pteroduck Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Possibilty, but i highly doubt its overheating. I keep my laptop well ventilated.I did nothing with the power as i did reformat it so its all back to stock/factory settings.I live in Texas, Houston to be exact.
