Scott P Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I was planning on using the on chip graphics actually. I could add a dedicated card if here needs change all of the sudden.
SpikeSoprano Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I f you are going to go with the onboard graphics I would stay with the amd apu solution, cheaper with better graphics and very fast for her needs. JMHO
DnaAngel Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I will have to agree. Im usually one to jump onto the Intel bandwagon as well, but judging by what the PC usage will be I think I would have to go with the APU. The i3 is still a good choice, but a few thing stick out that will have the APU giving her a little bit smoother playback performance. wevsspot Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I agree with Spike and you. If you're going to use the onboard gfx then go with the APU. There are a few members around here that are using them and have nothing but great things to say about it.
Scott P Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I am leaning towards the i3 for the basic reason as it is a simple processor swap away if an upgrade is needed. The A10 seems to be the top of that socket type while the i3 can be replaced with an i5 if for some reason hell freezes over and she needs the extra power. Then again, I might get distracted by a shiny object and change my mind.
