l1il Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I must say that I was I was expecting a bit more meat in this article, then I saw this thread speaking of an overview. I was curious because Thermaltake has a "not recommended" reputation in the power supply department. I know for a fact that their "silent" range was great, so I was wondering about this one. The CWT stickers let me wonder if this unit is coming from a CWT design, who also has it's ups and downs. VaporX Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I was curious because Thermaltake has a "not recommended" reputation in the power supply department While this might be true in the past I do not think it is true now. I know from my own experience that the budget oriented TR2 is a very stable and well made PSU that I have zero issues with despite having putting in over a hundred of over the last 2 years. The Toughpower lineup has always had a solid reputation as well.
Bosco Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Ya their TR2 units are very good. I had a few of the Toughpower units as well and they worked very well.
RHKCommander959 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I've had a modular Toughpower in service since 2007, running to this day just fine
d6bmg Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) In my humble opinion, it's a broadened description, not a review. You guys know how PSU reviews are done so I won't say anything more. Scratch that. I didn't see that it is written as 'overview' not 'review'. Waco Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 There's a reason it doesn't say review.
