R3C Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm thinking about do a upgrade to my desktop, special CPU and Graphic card. My actual system is this: Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 Ram: 4 x 4Gb Crosair DDR3 1600MHZ CPU: Intel 2500k OC@ 4,7Ghz GPU: ATI Asus 5870 1Gb Storage: SSD Samsung Evo 250Gb + Wester Digital Black 1Tb CPU Coller: Corsair Hydro H60 PSU: Nox Apex 600W I'm not looking for anything really expensive, but on my first search I look for a CPU Intel i7 3770k and a GPU R9 280. I use this computer to surf on the web, watch online movies, play some games in ultra definition and play with photoshop.
Waco Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 All you need is a newer GPU, if you really want to. The CPU and the rest I'd keep...
paulktreg Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 If you are going to upgrade the GPU then a new power supply, in my opinion, is mandatory.
El_Capitan Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Graphics card, yes, PSU, maybe. Anything else, not really.
cchalogamer Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 A new GPU will give you the performance boost because the rest of the system is fine for that. I would however look into replacing the PSU as a quick search finds not many good things about that line of PSUs. Not it's gonna blow bad, but bad efficiency and unable to actually deliver full rated output kind of stuff.

El_Capitan Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Season X750W is great, but EVGA 750W SuperNOVA G2 is also one of the best, and also can be found a lot cheaper.
