I wouldn't get that motherboard... I'd get an aftermarket manufacturered board for OCability.

I wouldn't get that i5, it's dumb. If you're upgrading...especially for the line of work you're in, get an i5, i7 or phenom II quad core minimum

Honestly - if you can wait a few weeks, Intel will be launching their new line of Sandy Bridge processors... I would wait for that - trust me, much better. Generally, with technology, you always have to bite the bullet since there's something new around the corner, but in this case, you're less than a month away from what's new.

Great idea, this could even drop prices on the old i7's (though doubtful considering the Core 2 Quads are STILL too expensive for their own good)

Pricing on current products won't shift dramatically yet - they'll be on par for a short while (it will force you to buy a better product :)). The C2Qs will still be around for a short time, though they only have certain markets now (considering Lynnfield/Clarkdale/Sandy Bridge are much better).

Just remember - overclocking really won't be the same with the Sandy Bridge due to the limited BCLK (could barely get more than 2-3% off that) - you'll have to rely on other measures (at this time, that's pretty much just the multiplier). However, for basic video editing and 3D work - even the i5-2400 has amazing power - and it's relatively cheap.
