El_Capitan Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'm still happy with my Samsung Spinpoint F3's. http://www.techspot.com/news/58190-some-hard-drive-failure-rates-are-rising-according-to-backblaze.html https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-update-september-2014/
Black64 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Wow, this is extremely helpful info for my next HDD purchase! I knew Seagate had some issues, but I didn't know Hitachi was that good. Thanks Capitan!

El_Capitan Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Why no samsung though? Always ran samsung and never had problems with it. Because Samsung's Hard Drive division was bought by Seagate.

Bosco Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I would like to know the sales for each company. I think if I recall Seagate out sells everyone else by 4 to 1 if memory serves correct. I had to RMA a lot of 500GB and 1TB Drives..... so far so good on 2 and 3TB drives knock on wood.
