My bad. I didn't mean for you to go into recovery console. Seandude's link is what I wanted you to do. -

Boot from the CD like you were going to install Windows. The first menu you get to you will have an option to repair your install. You won't lose any data or have to re-install anything either. -

ok. Most likely Windows got corrupted when the PC shutdown. Boot from your Windows cd and try to run a repair. -

Heatsink Fan. If I were you I would reseat that heatsink right now. Please make sure when you do this to not to use too much thermal compound when you re-apply.

Since he already has a 165 i doubt he has the problem of going from single to dual core. You shouldn't have problems going to another dual core proc. Maybe if you were going to single core, but who in their right mind would do that in the first place anyway.

Hard drive help

Make sure that the SATA drive is set as the first boot device in the BIOS. As long as you're on SP2 then you will be able to see the entire disk. -
You should decide now if you're going to go SLI in the future. That way when you read the PSU Guide Thread you can look at SLI cert. units on the Bang for the Buck list.

Allow me to jump on the dual core bandwagon. Unless money is a limiting factor, there is no reason not to pick up a 165, 170 or some version of an X2.

Come to think of it I might actually have one. There are plenty of good PSU's for under a $100. Mine was $90 from newegg. Just find something from the PSU guide that fits your price range.

I think we've found our new low for PSU wattage. Anyone want to try to break the 300 watt mark.
