  1. Hey guys, I want to upgrade from my rig below. Looking for the best deal for a new processor and 2 gigs of RAM. Ideally I want to pay around $150 for both.
  2. I am interested in the RAM. Can you please give me a price?
  3. I have the NF4 ultra-d motherboard. I am not in a rush, so please let me know which are the better ones? At the moment, I want something $100 or less, but then again, If one of the more expensive ones goes on sale, I will jump on that. So if you don't mind please list some of the better ones for my motherboard within a wider range of prices. Thank you. EDIT: I am planning on getting a dual-core processor. I heard that some processors have trouble with certain types of ram.
  4. I want to upgrade to 2 gigs. At the moment, I have 2x512 of some OCZ ram. I read on these forums that it's a bad idea to fill all 4 slots... So I figured I would just get 2x1 gig. I am not in a rush, so if anything goes on sale, I will jump on it. So a few recommendations would be great. Thank you.
  5. Thanks for taking your time to write that out. The ram seems to be pricey, especially since tons of sales are going on for the newer RAM. Hopefully I will see a price drop in that, but till then I will also be doing some research on the newer Intel stuff. If I can get a decent combo for around $200 with a decent Intel chip and motherboard, I may just go with that.
  6. I want to get a dual core processor and upgrade to two gigs of ram. I should be getting a 8800 GT soon. Few things. I don't plan on overclocking, so looking for the best stock speeds. As for ram, at the moment, I have two sticks of 512. Should I just take those out and get 2x 1gig of ram? If so can you please make a few suggestions of RAM that will work well with my motherboard. I am going to wait a little and catch one the suggestions I get, on sale. At this moment, it seems the older ram and 939 dual processor's are a little pricey compared to the new intel dual cores. Unless, I am not looking in the right place. So any suggestions as to where to look for these parts would be great as well. Thank you.
  7. What exactly is the automated system recovery? How would that work?
  8. Hmm I only have one hardrive at the moment. I guess I am going to have to lose all of my stuff......
  9. How exactly would I use the other computer to backup my data? I am a little confused. I would love to back up my data..
  10. I didn't see the option of repair...as stated in the link given to me.
  11. After I choose to install and agree with the user agreement. I run into an option of using the partitioned space or I can deleted it (238 gigs).....or use the unpartitioned space and create in a partition (8 mb).... I choose the first one and then i run into this option...and I run into this option.... "The partition is either too full, damaged, not formatted, or formatted with an incompatible file sysyem... To continue installing Windows, setup must format this partition. (I am able to choose from those 2 options below, nowhere do I see the repair option) -Format the partition Using the NTFS File system (Quick) -Format the partition Using the NTFS File system
  12. Oh ok. I am going to try it now. Thanks guys. I just hope I don't lose too much info.
