  1. I think the problem lies in the current draw for the fans. I'm not sure how much a fan draws but I know with all of the different manufacturers and sizes of fans that there is a big difference between all of them. The board was probably designed with the CPU fan in mind and it probably has a low draw. Now add a 3,4 or even 5 120 mm fans into the mix and you might be drawing an amp or so. This power is being sucked away from your motherboard and puts alot of strain on the motherboard power connector. With all of the extra connectors that arent used its much simpler to just bypass the motherboard
  2. Not a good idea to short out the blown fuse, do you want him to totally blow out his mother board? I've seen it posted on here a million times not to use the fan connections on the motherboard to run your fans. I'm surprised Angry hasn't trashed this thread already.
  3. I was looking intot he P180 and didn't like some of the things I was reading about it, especially the bottle neck at the PSU. I finally went with a Lian_li 1200B Plus. Plenty of room in it. It runs a couple of degrees warmer then my Antec Sonoma ll case
  4. Mine runs 38-40 on turn on and 45 under a load with COD2 playing for about an hour. I just changed over to the evercool a week ago so I'm watching the temps to see if they improve. Right now they are up a degree or two since getting rid of the DFI fan. It does run much quieter without the DFI fan.
  5. My problem is "do I need to up the CPU voltage".
  6. These are the settings that the guy at OCZ said to use, it calls for a CPU voltage of 1.4, not the CPU vid, not sure if its right or not. 7. I've tried to increase the voltage on the CPU core but the BIOS has it blocked out., somehow I need to turn it on
  8. I purchased 2g of OCZ PC4000 Gold GTX memory and now have it running in my machine with the stock memory settings. My question is if I want to run it at the PC4000 rate, FSB 250 does this mean I'm OCing? Where can I find more info for this? I tried to use some settings from the OCZ forum but I can't seem to unlock the CPU voltage and other voltages. Does this require that I use a different BIOS? I tried to do a search but apparently I'm using the wrong search criteria.
  9. I have a great idea, up her life insurance and give her the keys!!!!
  10. I'm pretty sure the tape is there to distribute the load from the springs equally so I feel its necessary but need to remove. Anyone else know?
  11. Are you talking about the 4 pin to the motherboard or the 6 pin to the video card?
  12. Did anyone try to transfer the foam tape to the new heatsink? If so how did you do it?
