Gigabyte i650 + E4400 OC Help
rbishop replied to Rustafur's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
Glad to see you got it figured out Rustafur. I am also using a Gigabyte DS4 and like it a lot. It does have some fsb holes in it. Mine is around the 401 to 425 FSB. I am at 8X426@3407Mhz. This is my first Intel set up since I had my Intel 600E over clocked to 800Mhz. Even with my memory, I have not had much luck running my memory Linked. It will not boot into windows. I currently have my memory Unlinked a 910Mhz. I am doing some Orthos on it right now while I am on my second system typing this. -
I just purchased a regular EVGA 8800 GTS 640Mb and really like it. I currently running it at 600 Core, 900 Memory. My old card was a Leadtek 6800GT, so I was overdue for a upgrade.

OMG Thats freaking hot!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed the same thing with my GIGABYTE DS4 with the north bridge heatsink being hot. I installed a Zalman FB123 with a 92MM fan and it blows on my northbridge and memory. It made a big difference. I was just thinking about this further and this might not fit with some aftermarket fan coolers because of the size. I am watercooling my set up. -
Thanks Radiohead, I will give the Vantec a look. This DFI NF3 motherboard has been stable as a rock since I purchased it. I got it when they first came out and have been very happy with it. I was surprised the chipset fan lasted as long as it has.

My chipset cooler fan finally stopped working on my DFI NF3 Ultra. I was wondering what everyone thinks would be a good replacement for it. I have a Leadtek 6800GT installed and there is not a lot of room for a very tall chipset cooler. Thanks in advance.

I also own the new 56" Samsung DLP 1080p TV hooked up to Dish Network. My couch is about 12" away, which I think works good. My room is not big enough to get any further away from it. I built myself a HTPC that allows me to play video games on it. I think it makes a pretty good monitor. It has all the connections on it you will need. I am using HDMI connections on my DVD and Satelite box. Be prepared to fork out some money for it.

I am using a Rosewill case with my HTPC with dual 120mm fans and it is a great case. Rosewill R6AS5, it is built like a tank. Only 39.99 at Newegg.

Anyone used Arctic Cooling HSF Before?
rbishop replied to politbureau's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
I have one in my third system and like it alot. Nice improvement over the stock heatsink. Easy to install. From what I have seen online, you will want to use the thermal compound that comes on the heatsink for best results. -
I have a Opteron 144 CAB2E and I have been running at 2800 Mhz for over 6 Months without any problems. Been putting about 1.53 Vcore into it. It might go higher with some more Vcore, but I am happy with it at 2800Mhz.

I just put a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro in one of my systems and like it alot. It installs very easy. -
Booted with CMOS jumper @ Clear CMOS
rbishop replied to Vassili's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
I did it once with my NF3 Ultra and got away with it. You should be OK. -
Like Pyro says, Lets us see your Dram settings, I am currenty running OCZ VX PC3200 in both of my systems. The real stuff, not the value. I am running my VX at 255Hhz at 3.3 volts on my DFI-SLI for over year at 2.2.2.5. at 1T.

A definitive answer ......
rbishop replied to MuChumbo's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
I have both a DFI NF4 SLI-DR and a NF3 Ultra and I like both boards alot. If I could find another NF3 board I would buy another one for my third system I need to upgrade. But now that the NF3 Ultra is not for sale, I will get another NF4. The NF4 board is better. I will need to get another PCI express video card. -
I jump on that deal in a heart beat. Been hoping they come back out so I can put one in my third system and replace my tired Nforce 2 board. I have been very happy with my NF3 Ultra D.
