  1. this one brings back dram data drive level 4, so if level 3 isn't enough for your ram... you might gain a few mhz plus, the max async latency and read preable are much "looser" with auto settings, even when i change dram response to fastest. gonna have to find a way to fix that
  2. i would hope you mean .16TD.. as the B revision die is like 3 years old now
  3. i dunno where there is one around here, but check this out: http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=6
  4. it lies. guess what voltage i hit this with http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=34163
  5. best i can tell, it's the voltage that the HT link signal operates at
  6. i fail to see the logic where people don't cool their ram when it gets hot, but spend upwards of $50-75 on cpu cooling  i bet more than half of these ballistix deaths would stop if everyone put a fan blowing over the ram, and a lot of you would see improved oc's
  7. ha, ok. what would you like changed? i did say "quick little", no?
  8. got a quick little review on my opteron 146: http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=3,31,0,0,1,0 enjoy CABNE 0530AMW, batch #0001
  9. i have crucial value that will do 263mhz at stock timings and 2.9v in a dfi. hardly troublesome at all
  10. check it out 3071mhz screenshot with stock cooling and 1.55v. i think this baby has a bit of headroom in it with better cooling http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=39922 here's part one of the review on it: http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=3,25,0,0,1,0
  11. i'm fine with memory, even if it's stuff i haven't used. kinda hate to pimp, but you should check out the memory forum at [H] sometime, i'm sure you'll spot me pretty quickly anyhow, i've got it working with those two borrowed sticks. i'll test out the single stick deal later. also, the opteron is a venus core. i thick it's essentially the same thing as san diego, but with some tweaks and the opteron badge on it. if you guys have any favorite bioses, feel free to recommend them, i'm all ears
  12. that's good to know, thanks Andy i'll test things out and see how they go. i'm borrowing 2x512mb of geil pc4000 from a friend, i determined that one of my sticks of ballistix is indeed bad, and is getting errors at 22mb in memtest
  13. all right, first for the rig, just cause the sig is a bit out of date now Opteron 144, s939 ocz powerstream420 gf4mx - pci assorted hard drives and fans 2x512mb ballistix 1x1024mb crucial value 1x128mb crucial value i just got a dfi nf4 ultra-d. it's a R.AB0 board. i've heard bad things about these.. but that's aside the point for now. it came with bios 3-10. after i started having issues, i flashed it to 6-23. no change in behavior basically.. the computer won't boot with one stick or mismatched dimms in. when i try to run the 2x512mb ballistix, i'll always get memtest errors in one spot. try switching the slots (1+3 is better than 2+4), and the error spot changes. this makes me think something is wrong with the ballistix, but it worked just fine on my dfi nf3-250gb this morning. this is ok.. as there is always a chance that i hurt one of the sticks, but there is no logical reason why the mobo hangs with 3 led's lit, meaning it's having problems detecting the ram with one stick, or a mismatched pair, in the slots. i tried almost every possible config between the above 4 sticks, but nothing will even boot unless it's the 2x512mb of ballistix in either slots 1+3 or 2+4
