RGone Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 The one stick it will boot with you need to see if it passes memttest for 8 hours in Orange slot closest the top edge of the board. If it does it is good. Try it at just 200FSB. If it passes then put the other stick in and test it. If I read right and it won't boot at all then it is defunct. Rma the stuff. Ocz knows about it and is why you have seen myself and others and long threads in here saying get away from memory that needs so much voltage. RGone... mobius Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 i spoke to soon happened again should i change bios for a 7.xx? is this cold boot everytime i have to switch off the pc i am screwd plz help thnxs I have the same prob as you, I've tried all kinds of BIOS's and it doesnt help. The only thing you can do is leave your pc on as much as you can. The way I get around it is to run on one stick for awhile in windows, maybe 30 minutes or so. Power down, but dont pull the plug or kill power to the PSU. Put the other stick back in and usually boots with both then for me. This is the strangest problem I've come across so far working with pc's. I think its a problem with the DFI board, not your ocz RAM. To be sure, try your sticks in another board. Sharp Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Hello, BIOS 510-2FIX may help. - Once the BIOS flash has finished, turn the PC off. - Clear the CMOS using the JBAT jumper, leave it there for 10 minutes. - Then put the CMOS jumper back to the save postion - When you Power the PC enter the BIOS. - Load optimised defaults - Save and exit. - Enter the BIOS and go to CMOS reloaded. - For each profile, save the current settings. - Then save and exit. - Now you can enter the BIOS and change the settings. It is very important that you clear the previous CMOS RELOADED SETTINGS.
