krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Installed my mobo.. and flashed to 510-2 bios... during windows installation i get BSOD.... first one was "Page fault in nonpaged area" second one was "PFN_List_Corrupt" could it be my mem causing the problem?.. unfortunately i dont know the manufacturer of the ram.. it's a two year old ddr400 w/ 3-3-3-8.... i gave my cpu and mem some more voltage.. but still no good... RyderOCZ Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Lemme see if I can give you some "generic" settings for the bios so you can see if its the ram causing issues. These should make just about any ram run (I think, LOL) In Genie Bios 200 auto 16 16 auto 100 disable 1.450v 1.300v above VID 110% 1.20v 1.50v 2.6V - 2.7V DRAM Config 200 enable 3 4 10 4 17 19 3 3 2 3 1560 auto enabled auto 0 Level 6 Level 2 9 ns 7 ns 256 disable 16 07 disable
krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 it failed the memtest86 at 39%... does this mean that the ram is at fault?!
RyderOCZ Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 With my settings? possibly...like I said they are quite "loose" Try the DRAM DRive at Level 2 or 3 and the DAta Drive at Level
krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 no it was at my stock setting.. im running the test w/ ur setting right now....
krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 ok.. with that setting it failed at 47%... does it mean that this is ram problem?
RyderOCZ Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 You say Failed....what exactly do you see? http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showpost....698&postcount=6 What test numbers are the errors in?
krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 darn!.. i forgot to write it down.. i will try again and write it down... T_T but when memtest fails... does it usually mean that ram is not good?.. or is it normal to fail the test?
RyderOCZ Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 If it fails on test number 5 and or 8 at stock speeds....its quite often "bad"....errors in other test numbers can just indicate settings issues. Test each stick individually in the Farthest orange from the CPU and see if its just 1 that gives errors....this way you know that it must be the mem
krnxpride83 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 im actually using only 1 stick at dimm2 right now just to be safe.. im reinstalling right now w/ external cache disabled... decided to try that after reading this thread.. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...fn+list+corrupt
