red930 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Man, applying just a little common sense and they would have ended up with a nicer wiring job. Pull everything out and start over. Remove the right side panel and run as many wires around the back side. The front fan wire is a good example. If you can move the optical drive down a couple of bays, you can use that space to hide wires at the top. I would also move the two hard drives toward the center of the front fan's airflow. txmale36 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 yeah poor wiring can block air flow. how exactly it effects temps is another thing. it may or may not vary much but still i would clean that up a bit. do you have a see through side panel? if not i guess you dont have to go balls to the wall but i would at least make an attempt to rewire some of that. red930 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 There are hundreds of ways for you to run the wires that would be "right". What matters most is getting some order to the routing of the wires. Try to keep all of the wires going it the same direction together. It might take you a while to figure out the best routes for your particular case. You want to keep the wires away from things that need airflow like the chipset fan, CPU and video cards. How would the wires be placed if it were wired in a very good way? soundx98 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 I'm assuming that this build is like brand new. Just got it. I wouldn't recommend touching, moving, or modifying any cable work right now. No offense but from the look of the cable management I wonder how much care went into the rest of the build. If something fails and you need assistance from the builder they will freak if you tidy up that rat's nest. I'd play with it for a while to make sure everything is running smooth. It takes longer to tweak cable management than it does to build the rig. How's it workin' by the way. If all it'll do is improve the PC interior aesthetically, I don't wanna bother cleaning it up because I really have no idea what I'm doing. Maybe I will in the future when I have more knowledge on all this. The next PC I'll purchase sure as hell won't be store-built, I promise myself that right now. EDIT: It's working very well. Was experiencing some display issues (thin white bar on top, HL2 tearing, etc.) but those got fixed with the 77.30 beta forceware drivers. It scored 9889 in 3dmark05, and nothing has been overclocked, so that's pretty good. EDIT2: Here you go: 1920x1200 wallpapers , I searched for widescreen wallpapers on google and found that. txmale36 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 ive had computer put together before but i always tell them i want the inside nice and clean if thats "extra" then so be it. i would say most dont charge extra they just do it its a matter of taking pride in your work. thats a nice system you have glad its working good. txmale36 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 your two video cards are towards the bottom also. you have a fan actually on your side panel also? i have raptors in my intel rig and havent had a problem but then again i dont have the hardware you do on my intel rig. i have four fans in my intel rig case two in the back one on the side panel and one on top blow hole.with that setup i would make sure airflow is good you have quite an investment there.
