bugeyes Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 I'm sticking to single cores untill more application are writen to take advantage of duel cores. By that time socket M2 should be available along with DDR2!

Angry_Games Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 poor intel. lol honestly intel just doesnt have anything exciting or that can match the AMD's (unless you want their most expensive cpu but even it can't really compete with AMD's top dog) you look at their cpu's doing 1000Mhz more than an AMD and either losing, or neck-n-neck (unless you are running Intel optimized benchmarks of course...but that will change quickly with Dual Core AMD cpu's and SSE3)...but mostly losing in the important (to us) areas like gaming im still a big intel fan...but i wouldn't spend my money on one these days...not even their EM64T (which last i checked, was still being trounced by a much slower A64)
Stang8118 Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 I guess i am alone with Intel. I love AMD chips, but Intel has more overall uses then amd with pretty much only gaming.
red930 Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Whoa nelly! Intel is falling further behind the curve. Factor the cost versus performance of a processor and the components needed to make a rig. Have you priced DDR2 memory lately? The very cheapest DDR2 memory is 30% more than DDR RAM. Take a look at the ratings by PC World... http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,120224,00.asp and here... http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,a...224,pg,2,00.asp I guess i am alone with Intel.
