A64 3400 rev. C0 versus CG

Recommended Posts

I now have two A64 Clawhammer CPUs.

The CPU in my main rig is rev C0. The second CPU is rev CG.

I'm not a massive overclocker as evidenced by my SIG.

Based upon this information, is there any reason to favor one rev over the other.

With the same clock speed and BIOS settings will the CG perform any better than the C0 in my rig at the current settings?

If I put the CG in my main rig are there any BIOS setting that would need to be changed in order to get a performance increase without moving further into the overclocking realm?

Thanks for the feedback.

I thought I had read that somewhere on the forum.

I tried searching but the engine refuses anything less than three characters.

AG can you modify the search engine to allow two character searches

I guess its time for a new round of benchies.

Thanks

Use your 2 characters and add the * and it'll work. * just acts

like a wild-card character.

Of the chips I've owned I've always had better luck with the

CG cores when overclocking. Especially back when the A64

first came out. The CG chips are really hard to find today

unless you deal with the high-end stuff like the 3700. They

are CG. I don't know of any vendor now that even handles

the lower Mhz CG core A64.

Edit.... I've always used the same BIOS tweaks for both.

Pops.
