I confirmed the low level (3.02V for the 3.3 ) in BIOS also. Not the drop, but I think is real :)

 

 

only way to know for sure is to use a multimeter - i don't trust anything else.

BIOS gets the measurements from the same place as pc probe.

 

Hook up a DMM to the 3.3v line on the mobo and get the real value.

 

When adjusting my powersupply rails for a slight overvoltage across the board, what the software and BIOS says is quite different from the real value the DMM says - don't trust software for voltage readings.

There is really no need to worry about software readings! Plain and simple, they are 100% wrong! For your system, 480W of Tagan goodness should be more than enough :)

 

As for what it's used for, I'm not sure, but I think each motherboard regulates differently which rail is for what?
