robAP Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 In looking for other configurations that would better suit my needs, the external option is piquing my interest. I do like the ergonomics and approach of the Koolance external "topside" style solution, but i'm wondering if it is still an all aluminum component construction (ie: radiator and pump internals aluminum and not copper) my current waterblock and future waterblocks are all copper and an aluminum radiator/pump housing will just make it impossible due to chemical reactions. anyone using the LM series external setup having luck over the longterm? and what sort of heat exchanger are they using? anything replaceable with a copper rad setup in that case? LivingGhost Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I believe it is a general consensus everywhere that Koolance is the Thermaltake of water. I may be wrong, I have no personal experience with them.
philbrown23 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 some koolance is good, alot of their newer stuff is gold plated copper, but most of their rads are aluminum.

robAP Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 some koolance is good, alot of their newer stuff is gold plated copper, but most of their rads are aluminum. thanks ill look into that. but it dosent make sense to me really. Copper is perfect as it is. gold plating it would be like....well...giving Heather Graham a face-lift. She's perfect already, so whats the point? hardnrg Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Koolance SUCKS... even if you ignore the 8mm tubing or w/e crap they use, the rads are rated on like 5000 CFM... yeah they perform great in an actual wind tunnel, but they still suck with "normal" airflow from 12V fans... Nothing's changed... Koolance sucks... there are some new brands kicking up a storm though... EK has really taken off for all types of blocks...
