graysky Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 If you're running a 45 nm quad on an asus p5k (or any other P35 board for that matter), are you able to hit 8x400 or 8x450 okay? If so, what are your board voltages and mb temps (like north bridge temp or whatever readout that board displays for motherboard temps)? I ask because I'm thinking about getting a Q9450 next month on this board and since the multiplier is locked @ 8.0, I'll have to jack up the FSB. Thanks for the feedback all! The Smith Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Hi, I don't have a C2Q but a C2D E6750. Just an indication, on my Gigabyte P35-DS3R, I'm not able to raise my FSB higher than 430 Mhz with stock Northbridge cooling, or else it becomes VERY hot. I plan on buying a new nb heatsink... mattwalter85 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 on my abit IP35 Pro i've been able to boot into windows at 523fsb but it wans't stable(i'm on air)
ccokeman Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I have yet to put my 9770 on a p5k board but with a a Q6600 I hit 440 on the p5k3. On the Blitz Extreme though I hit 487. Its just a matter of what voltages you want to play with and chipset limitations.
Neil Wighton Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) Using a QX9650 I've just achieved up to 415MHz (x9) on my ASUS P5B Deluxe mobo, which has a non optimal P965 chipset, with a core voltage of 1.3V. I'n using a Scythe Infinity cooler but temperatures were not a problem. I found that my memory bandwidth started to reduce (see separate post) so I didn't go any higher until I have a better idea of what I'm doing.
