dyetube Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 O.k... So here's the deal. I just bought the new danger den mc-tdx setup ( the 4404 with the new mc-tdx waterblock) and the cooler master cosmos case and I'm getting some GREAT temps on my amd 5600+ (soon to be a q6600 and 780i board in half a week) compared to my old air cooling. When I have both side panels on my case I get around 46-47 deg. on the cpu (which ain't bad for this cpu) but with the main side panel off It drops 10 Deg.! I really don't want to keep this side panel off (and I am going to mod it with a window) any ideas on getting the lower temps with the side panel on? I've got all the fan slots filled with 120 mm fans (most of them are the ones that came with the case)so there are no free slots. Should I upgrade to better fans like the yate loons I have on my radiator? I can take some pictures if need be...

PeterStoba Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You probably have, but make sure there are no wires blocking the way of the fans and that there is no dust inside there too
j2t Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Upgrade the fans, because quite honestly the stock fans in the Cosmos do not move a whole lot of air.
dyetube Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You probably have, but make sure there are no wires blocking the way of the fans and that there is no dust inside there too The cosmos case has absolutely the best cable management so all my cables are very well hidden. The only cable that is not hidden is the main power cable going to the mobo as well as the tubing for the watercooling. I'll take pictures when I get home this eve. and upload them. dyetube Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 O.k. Here's the pics of the inside of my case (and somewhat of the case itself): Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The last pic is a prime 95 pic. as you can see I have great temps on full load with the side of the case off, but that would go up at least 10 deg. with it on. Also that radiator is under the top of the case.
hardnrg Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I'm not sure if you realise, but the T-piece you have is connected badly... you should have it so that the flow from the CPU block goes straight through the straight section, not

Bleeble Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 What you really need is more intake(s).
noob_eater4726 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) X2 Also you should make the tubes less curvy and more straight or neat to increase flow rates. Make sure your D5 pump is set to the 5 speed if you have the variable version. Yeah, the stock fans aboslutely suck, they are the cooler master ones that push 11 CFM! noob_eater4726 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 The loop is bad design for flow speed which is very important, the temps with the side panel off are because of the lousy stock fans.
