Problems on power up

I recently replaced my mobo, cpu, and psu. I've ran into some wierd problems when pushing the power button. My problem is that the computer powers on but I have no signal on the monitor. I tried a different video card and it worked. So I tried it again with my original video card and it worked. So I left it in that computer. Then after a few restarts I noticed that I wouldn't get a signal at all again... Not even the mobo logo or anything.. So I tried my other card again and still got nothing when that card works perfect on a different computer. Any thoughts on this? Thanks...

I guess it could be the slot that the video card plugs into. Nothing else really comes to mind other than an unstable overclock. Try resetting the bios. Can't hurt.

Well its a new cpu, mobo, and psu. I hope I didn't fry anything already. I'm so frustrated lol.

 

Do you think I could have damaged the components by putting it all together with out an antistatic wristband? I've never damaged a unit before and I never usually use one.

In all of my builds I've never killed anything while not wearing an antistatic wristband. What kind of video cards are you using to swap in and out? Sometimes they could be getting to little power from the psu.

 

Another thing to check is if all your RAM is fully inserted. Also, check to see if your RAM sticks are still good by only having one in at a time and starting the computer. I know when I had a bad stick of ram my computer would turn on and not get video signal. As soon as I yanked the bad one out it booted like normal.

the video card is a pny verto with the nvidia 6600 gpu and the other is a older ati I can't remember the model.. I'm guna try the ram thing when I get home. Thanks for the help man. Ill do a follow up later when I get home...

I just had the same problem with my new build. Turns out the mobo was grounding out on the case. Maybe that isn't your problem but I would take everything out and re-install it all just to rule it out. It worked for me and I booted up right away.

Try booting it up while its out of your case so you'll know whether it is or isn't a grounding issue.

And while its out of its case, if the issue persists you will probably want to start replacing parts with components you know to be working to isolate the component causing issues.

I had a similar problem just recently. After replacing the motherboard and trying a different video card, it was one of my sticks of Munchkin 6400 that was the problem. Of course, I didn't check (duh) for HDD activity before I ran out a bought a cheapie video card. If you can tell that it's loading Windows by HDD spinning up, then it's probably video related, either one of the cards, both of the cards, or the PCIe slot. If you aren't seeing or hearing much HDD, my guess would be RAM, mobo, CPU in that order.
