Waco Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 AFIK the heat does not increase until you add more volts. I have never seen temps increase by just raising the bus speed... CMOS devices dissipate the maximum amount of power when they are transitioning, that's why the heat increases as you increase the clock speed. The more you crank up the clock the longer they stay in the transitioning state where they are burning power and giving off heat.
