ir_cow Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 i'm about to order my CPU and it comes down to that i (may) replace it by next x-mas (another $200) but i want somthing fast now so i can keep my 3d rendering times down and dvd transcodes. so it comes down to Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor (which i was gona get) $194 FSB 1333 or Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 Allendale 2.0GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor $129 FSB 800 which one!!!! By the looks of things, quads in gaming will be fairly, if not completely, mainstream by winter of 08. That's if games like Crysis, UT3 and other anticipated titles are anything to go by though the first two are just around the corner. But yeah, that e6750 will definitely provide enough power for you well into next year and possibly even beyond and then go quad when they take over like dual cores.
