suchuwato Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Depends how well they both perform... and how many sticks you're using. What is the Mushkin?
gunak87 Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 You can mix RAM from different manufacturers about 99% of the time with little to no problems. If they are different speeds, then the faster RAM will be knocked down to the speed of the slower RAM.
fire_storm Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Most of the time you can mix different ram sticks but if one ram stick runs slower then the others it slows the other sticks down like said before. If your going into overclocking mixing ram is a bad idea.
hardnrg Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 it's more about the operating voltage, capacity, and timings (all characteristics of the actual ram modules on the memory sticks) then the brand... if you can't physically see the ram modules because of the heatspreaders, matching specs are a good indication... mixing different capacity sticks is a recipe for a headache imo
MisFiT_ Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Eh I think the amounts of the ram have to be the same like how you have 2x512 Megabytes and 2x1 gigabytes I think they have to all be the same amount it's what I heard for dual-channel but i'm not sure. kingdingeling Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 It'll work, but using 2x512 with 2x1 is not soo good, I have tried 2x1 + 2x1 myself, so 4x1GB, which works absolutely fine.
