xbox 360 external HDD

Im not sure if this has been answered, i looked but never fonud a thread.

 

I have a maxtor external HDD and i was wondering if its possible to link it to my xbox 360 so that i have a lot more extra space?!?

Well, according to Google Which Brought me to "xbox 360 external hdd" which brought me to This page that says you can.

Thanks for that. I guess i can but the only thing is that i have to make another partition on my ext HDD and format it into FAT32. tell you the truth i dont really need the space that bad yet but if i do i'll get it sorted.

You can always remove the xbox's HDD and ghost it to a larger one. but if you do, DO NOT BOOT WINDOWS WITH THE XBOX DRIVE IN (sorry for the caps, but it is really important),i have herd that doing this with a TiVo drive can destroy it (windows modifys a boot sector or something.) But it may be save, just research it. (and btw: it dose not really destroy it, but the tivo can't read it.)

You can use a extrenal HD on the 360 but only for reading from IIRC. SO in other words you can have you music on the external HD instead of using up space on the 360 HD.

yeah you can use an extrenal but you cant put any XBL games or save games on it. just music and videos that you dont download from xbox live
