Newport Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Friend's computer is acting crazy today and im at a loss about what to do. I went over there to check to see if his HDD crapped out. It did, however during the diagnosis, the monitor stopped recognizing the fact that it was plugged into the GFX card. It would constantly do that "self test" no matter if it was plugged into the computer or not. I changed it with 2 other monitors as well as 2 other GFX cards and i get the same result. I cant help but to think the mobo has gone bad. What do you all think? For reference, here is the specs of the system: Asus A7N8X-E AMD 2700+ 3x256GB generic RAM ATI 9600 (i tried my 9700 Pro as well as a 9800 XT and i got the same results) Please help ASAP. I need to know now.

NCC10281982B Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I'm leaning toward dead mobo or proc.
Newport Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Well, i just got back from over there and im kinda freaking out... The first time i tried to start the computer again, it worked fine except for the fact that it will not boot to windows. The XP screen flashes for a second and it goes back to POST menu. I tried a HDD of mine that had a working version of Windows and it too would not boot up. Guess they have a bad Mobo. Thanks for all the help.
