Ziggy54354 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 My mobo died so i need to rma, unfortunately the back plate of my scythe ninja uses an adhesive so its stuck on there pretty good. Ive stuck it in the freezer in hopes that will work but does anyone else have any ideas on how i can get this thing off?
anthony Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 This happened with many Big Typhoons too, just heat it up with a blow drier, close your eyes, pull and hope for the best! :

Hyper Threaded Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Get a bigger hammer, matey.. the one you're using isn't big enough. Just get it all gooey with a hair drier stolen from your sister, it'll come off.
Ziggy54354 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 thanks guys, it worked. My motherboard is now physically damaged but it was broken to begin with so... thats fine i guess. Newegg doesnt really care about damaged stuff
i_lag Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Like Roadkill stated, I would think that using a blowdryer to slowly heat the adhesive, and thus losen the backplate would work. EDIT: well if it's going to be RMA'd then I guess it's okay if you knick it up a bit, but not too much, or else it could be rejected as user error or something.
