Stupid Question

Recommended Posts

I've decided to get rid of my motherboard as it's driving me nuts! So today i bought another X800XT only a PCI-E version and i'm gonna get rid of my AGP version. I'm thinking of buying an Asus A8N-SLi Premium, but will this board accept my gfx card? Are they just setup differently for SLi and don't make a difference for single gfx cards?

for that video card I would still recomend an ATI chipset on the mobo. pickup an A8R-MVP. Far cheaper, faster board, overclocks well, and so far rock solid on all 4 I've got up and running. not to mention you could later add crossfire to it.

the A8R-MVP is the first Asus board I've seen for AMD processors since the A7V333 that was worth it's weight in anything besides cow dung. it's a quality board at a very reasonable price.

I still want to know what in god's name happened to the review I wrote of it :( I think it covered the few minor issues I had and showed just how minor they were.

Price an A8R-MVP next to most name brand SLI boards and you'll be shocked that it's a lot cheaper. now it's big brother the A8R32-MVP isn't exactly cheap, but it's also the 939 overclocking champ... not to say little brother does a bad job there. FX-60's over 3.8ghz isn't too shabby.

The Marvell NIC is a little buggy on the A8R-MVP. That is my only pet-peeve about that board. Other than that, can't beat the price for its' performance. :)

Hey, let's not be dissing cow dung. Many farmers find it quite useful as fertilizer :P
