So I got my 1998 Ford Escort Sport.

And this is what I gotta do in comming year.

Replace oil.

Flush and refill brake Fluid.

Flush and refill Coolant.

Flush and refill Transmission Fluid.

Replace coolant thermostat.

Replace PCV valve.

Replace Drive belt.

Replace Battery.

Replace Air filter.

New Tires (all).

Replace Power steering Fluid.

New routors and Brake Stuff.

Its got 71K miles on it and I don't have an Owners Manual.

I never Thought I would have to spend and do so much On a car..

And that list is just the start, I will probably have to do a whole lot more.

Though I want this car to last, I only paid 4.5 K for it.

Anyone else got any ideas as to what I can spend money on? :glare:

I really wanna hear some Bad car stories though... :P

may want to re-phrase that one: brake pads need replacing when they need replacing! same with discs - if they are worn (heavy breaking) then they gotta go. if discs have grooves in 'em that are severe, time to go too.

soz, just that brakes are something that ought to be checked often. depending on who's pads ya got, some wear much faster than others. my pads lasted 28'000 miles from new on my fiesta. depends on whether ya do a lot of city/country driving

Could be like me,

'94 Silverado 155K miles

oil change in about 2 months

needed new tires last fall

thermostat replaced December of last year

K&N Air filter back a few months after i got it

Air filter cleaning when i change the oil wouldn't hurt...

had to replace cabin air blower last week (PITA to get to)

Windshiled wipers

brakes are a constant issue with pulling moderatly heavy things

AC needed fixing the summer after I bough it

Front CV boot busted

Had a bearing in the front diff screw up giving me a 2wd Z71...

Then I have the '96 Cavalier

115,856 miles

needs an oilchange at 116K

rear tire tread nearly non-existant

K&N air filter

needs windshield wipers

Leaky AC compressor seal when I bought it

brakes look decent for now....

and the '00 Yamaha Big Bear 400 4x4

Right front wheel bearings were dust after 1.5yrs of ownership

Bought a K&N airfilter for it a few weeks back

replaced battery

winch needs to be rewired

have to reweld the fromt bumper every 6 months or so

needed new tires earlier last year.

So yeah, you have much to look foward to :D

bc i dang well feel like it

I bought the 4-wheeler in late 2001 used for my riding pleasure (HS Freshman)

Bought the truck in the spring of my sophomore year bc the familiy's spare Dodge Ram 50 ('85 model) had a tendency to break down every 3,000 miles

Bought the car over the summer bc it was cheaper to drive, but i still need the truck.

So yeah that's why.
