Hailstorm Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I recall hearing that Microsoft was trading in XP Pro for the 64 bit version staight up. I can't seem to find the sourse now that I have a untouched copy of Pro. Now,I'd like to do it and can't find it <_< Maybe I am just tired from work. But, I know the knowledge base here is pretty crap big Any ideas?
suchuwato Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I didn't know they were doing that. I think they had an amnesty on pirated copies of XP for a while, but I don't know if that's still on...

Kash Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 They WERE doing this, when x64 first came out a few months ago. You could trade in your XP Pro copy for a copy of x64. There's one catch though, once you trade it in, you can't get it back. So if x64 doesn't work for you 100%, then you're effectively screwed. As for the link, try taking a look in the forums. I know there were several threads on it at the launch of x64.
