Tirian-64 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I had heard that different SATA controllers have different abilities to handle a SATA harddrive while overclocked. I am currently using the Nforce four (love this chipset) Sata controller. the other is the Silicon image 3114 controller and that operates through the pci express bus. i can lock that on the motherboard, so maybe the frequency will keep the Sata harddrive in check. anybody have any other suggestions i got 266 htt stable and i got it to boot at 267 once, but never again *sigh* *tear*. Tirian-64 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 the sil runs though the pci express busk, and you can lock that at 100 Mhz so.. yeah thanks for the advice, i thought that might have been it, but thanks.
