Blue_cow Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I was just playing WoW and suddenly my screen goes black and the light goes on sigifying no signal. This only happened when playing WoW and Hl2:lost coast. Is my video card overheating? or is this a monitor problem?
ccokeman Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Sounds like your card overheated. Can you shut down for 10 minutes and then get the video signal and picture back on the monitor?
Blue_cow Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Yes I left it off for 5 minutes and had a fan blowing at the side and its fine now. Do i need better cooling or something?

Do i need better cooling or something? 568803[/snapback] Yes you do, either on the card or in the case Simple fix would be to make your HT bigger, or get a bigger heatsink. That'll give the heat more displacement. It'd be quieter than putting a massive fan on the HS too. ccokeman Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Check and see if the fan is running or moveing slowly on the stock cooler. You could also blow the dust bunnys out from thier hiding place in the fins of the stock cooler. kind of like cleaning your cpu heatsink. gunak87 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 (edited) Is it pushed in the AGP or PCI-E slot snuggly? That happened to my sound card once. My PC would crash out of nowhere. Sometimes just reseating the card will solve the problem. Edited October 31, 2005 by gunak87
Blue_cow Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I'll try that if it happens again, thanks
