bdylyzsouless Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I'm thinking of buying this psu. Any input on this supply would be great. Aerocool
Nerm Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 I am not a huge fan of Aerocool PSU's. I would recommend an OCZ, PC P&C, Enermax, or Fortan brand.
HoLoDreaM Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 i looked at that PSU when i was doing my long time PSU research to find the PSU that i really wantd, i settled with a Tagan V2 480w after many weeks of research http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp...N82E16817101516 of course that PSU LOOKS good.. you want one that performs just as well follow the brands that was posted before me!.. Tagan's seem to be pretty good too, they get excellent reviews http://www.tagan.com my Tagan V2 480w is on the delivery truck as i type, it should be here anytime soon! ill be sure to tell u how it is afterwards

bdylyzsouless Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 what do you mean "wimpy". Its like 38A
Waco Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 (edited) I have the 550 watt Silver line PSU from Aerocool...this thing is a rock solid beast. The voltages stay near perfect under any load, and it's dang silent. Spec: Barton @ 2.53 512 MB Geil at 2-3-3-2-11 1T @ 444 mhz dual channel dvd-rw cd-rw 3 hard drives (sata) 9800pro flashed to XT at 440/770 3 case fans, 1 tornado (5 volts) The lines never fluctuate more than a couple millivolts from idle to load. I love it! EDIT: I don't see how anyone can call a 38 amp 12 line to be wimpy, especially when it holds at 12.2 perfectly under load. EDIT AGAIN: Here is the review of my psu, and from what I've heard, all of the new 550 watt Aerocool psu's use the same guts. http://www.overclockersclub.com/link/?http...owcontent&id=73 Edited May 20, 2005 by Thewacokid

markiemrboo Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 with a DMM? 480271 In all honesty that set up doesn't look like it would stress the PSU all that much anyway? EDIT: Not saying it's crappy! Just stating that is all

Just stating that is all 480284 that is what I was thinking. I am happy with mine because it is only rated at 480 watts, but I have: p4 northwood proc @ 3.825 7 fans 3 cold cathodes 6600gt 2 HDs cigarrette lighter 2 cd roms a LOT of USB devices floppy drive

Just stating that is all 480284 Maybe not to the point that a lot of PSU's get pushed...but still. And yes, those measurements were with my multimeter. I'm counting on it being plenty powerful to power my summer upgrade (2 gigs ddr500, Venice A64 pushed as far as it will go, and an x850xt).
